Hey, this is just a silly short story, so if you like it please say so in a nice comment if you want more!
I was sitting by the shore, not a worry in my head, when a man walked up to me and told me my father had died.
I was bewildered and afraid and most of all... confused.
How could my father be dead? I wondered. I had just seen him last night when he tucked me in...
This was five years ago.
My mother, my two sisters, and I are getting along well... with a slight issue.
Actually... a huge issue.
Well you see, just last two months another man, a doctor this time, came to my house and told my mother she had a highly dangerous disease for a year and that she had three months to live.
That was two months ago.
So, there I was with one more month with my mother before they shipped me to the orphanage along with my two sisters, Kimberly, who was fifteen, and Charlotte, who was eleven. I, May, am fourteen.
So what would you do if you had only thirty-one days with your mother...?

How To Do a Downy Dunk on Your AG Doll's Hair
First of all, thanks for reading my blogs!
Second, what you are going to need is:
(1) A plastic bucket, such as a popcorn bowl but slightly bigger.
(2) A towel to put around it, but not a white one or else there is a possibility of bleaching or staining it.
(3) A doll, obviously, with a terrible bird's nest of a hair (be sure to take her clothes off!)
(4) Downy Fabric Softener (this brand is expensive, so you don't have to use this particular brand; just one with scentless odor.
(5) And a metal or plastic spoon.
OK, first you should fill the bucket with your scentless fabric softener. Then you need some old books from when you were younger, or just books that are useless and you hate. These will hold up your doll from falling head first into the Downy! And then you need to stick your doll's head in the bowl with fabric softener, and get your spoon. Your metal or plastic spoon is used for, in case you didn't fit all of your doll's head in it, to pick up some fabric softener from the bowl and dump it on her head but not face. Be careful not to get your doll's inner wig wet, for it will make her wig loose and will eventually fall off. But no worries, just make sure it's not wet in the higher wig area! Then you should let it sit in there from five to twenty-four hours, depending on your doll's hair, checking from hour to hour on it and dumping Downy from the spoon onto it.
When it's done take it out and rinse it as best as you can. Rinse well for if not you will have greasy doll hair as your BFF, and that's not very fun to play with, huh? Haha, nope. So rinse well!!!!
As far as I'm aware, this method works on all dolls when necessary.
Please do not blame me if your doll somehow messes up in this situation, as it is not my fault in its entirty. So... Thanks for reading and be sure to check out my other posts!!

Washing Your American Girl Doll or A Life of Faith Doll's Hair
Hey, if you'd like to know how to exactly wash your AG or ALOF doll's hair, or any other information about things like this, this is definitely the blog for you!
First of all, if you want to watch a video, you should go to Youtube.com . If you want the most detailing, go to Stephenswodadancer's Channel! You will find all sorts of things on there. But first I would recommend you read my blog for all the information you need for this project.
So first of all, you need baby soap, a small towel (one for the floor, one for your doll. Then you'll need your doll's wire hairbrush that has never ever been used for a human, as their hair has natural oil. Then you should get a very mild (and gentle) hair conditioner (Treseme is great, but you don't have to use this particular brand. Usually you should use the one you already have), but only a little dab since you don't want your doll's entire head in a big blob of white goo haha! Then you use lukewarm water (that means a little on the colder side rather than hot), and put your doll's hair in it. A little preface, only wash your doll's hair if extremely needed and only use an appropriate amount of water!!
And then you just (cover her eyes with cotton balls and tape; no, the tape will not leave marks on your doll's face) dunk her hair in the water. If your doll has very long hair, such as Millie (ALOF), Julie or Felicity (AG) then I wouldn't recommend dunking her whole hair in the water. Plus, if your doll has short hair like Kit (AG) I would not recommend washing it. Or if your doll has curly hair (such as Rebecca, Samantha, etc.) then I would definitely not recommend washing their hair!!
But if you do, after you dunk her hair, you need to put some baby shampoo on her hair only the size of a quarter, since a little makes alot! And then you rinse it out, but not too much with making her hair wet. And here's where the conditioner comes in... Put the same amount of conditioner in as you did with the shampoo, maybe even a little less, and spread it around her hair and let it sit for say three minutes. Then carefully rinse all of it out. From experience if you don't rinse all of it out, your doll's hair will look rather greasy so please take care your doll's hair is properly rinsed. Also, when done rinsing, lay her head off of the counter but the rest of her body still on the counter of the sink (but don't get her body or limbs wet). Then, if she has straight hair, brush it out and remember to put a towel on the floor as water will definitely spray over! I mean, it's not like this is a neat process.
Then just let it dry like that for about four hours. Brush it again, put some clothes on her, and she's about brand new! (With her hair, anyway.)
If you have an ALOF doll, then I would not recommend this. But if you do, definitely do not do this on the Elsie Dinsmore Doll!!! Seriously, do not!!!
And that's it...
Please do not blame me if your doll gets messed up in this process, as I only tell you what works and what doesn't from experience!
Thank you for reading, and happy blogging! :)
I hope this helps, and have fun!!
